From overwhelmed parent to confident guide: how I created the potty training help I couldn’t find.

When my daughter was ready to start potty training, I found myself searching for support that felt right - something that aligned with my values as a parent and as a teacher. I wanted a gentle approach that respected her pace, supported her development and brought us closer, not into conflict.

But all I found was one-size-fits-all routines, unrealistic expectations and a focus on speed over understanding.

As a teacher with years of experience and a deep understanding of child development, I knew this could be more than a milestone. It could be an opportunity to connect, to nurture her confidence and to support the kind of real-life skills she’d carry far beyond the bathroom.

I wanted a method that would be:

  • Child-centred and pressure-free

allowing my child to move at their own pace.

  • Focused on all-round development

using potty training as an opportunity to build other lifelong skills like resilience and problem solving.

  • Respectful and positive

ensuring my child felt empowered, not pushed.

  • Committed to long-term success

valuing gradual, meaningful progress over quick surface level results.

I wanted help with potty training that felt thoughtful, not mechanical. An approach that was rooted in research, grounded in love and centred on the child, not the checklist.

So, shaped by real child development insight, I created the method I couldn’t find.

And it didn’t just work - it transformed the experience for both of us. It removed the stress and gave us space to bond and celebrate her progress in a way that felt authentic.

Let me show you how potty training can be smooth, empowering and even joyful — for you and your child.

My goal is to equip you, too, with the knowledge and tools you need to support your child's growth and development and ensure they become a confident, self-regulating and happy individual. By taking a child-centred approach that nurtures life skills, we can make potty training a positive and enriching experience that strengthens the bond between you and your child and that lays the foundation for lifelong success.

From The Mindset Comes The Method

Potty training is often seen as a daunting task - but it doesn’t have to be that way!

It can change with a simple yet powerful shift in mindset: viewing potty training not merely as the act of teaching your child to use the potty but as a journey of growth and development that nurtures your child’s overall wellbeing.

By reframing potty training as more than just a practical skill to be mastered, we unlock a wealth of opportunities for connection and learning.

My method, rooted in child development research and holistic education principles, is underpinned by what I like to call The Four Pillars of Potty Training.

This comprehensive approach ensures that potty training is not just a task to be completed but a meaningful journey that enriches your child's early years and sets them up for lifelong success.
